Android is really taking share

OfficeDrop’s new user signups & usage data is really showing a massive increase from Android devices. Part of this is because we released the OfficeDrop Android tablet app, but part of it is also likely due to the fact that the Android platform is experiencing great overall market growth.

I came across a piece on Apple Insider that shows the top phone sold by various wireless companies in the US, and Samsung’s Galaxy S III is now out selling Apple’s iPhone 4s. I’m not surprised the iPhone has dropped, as people are probably waiting for the iPhone 5 to come out. However, the real story is that Samsung is taking tremendous share with their slick Android devices.

Here is a figure from the Apple Insider piece; not sure where they got it:

It’s a surprising rise from Samsung indeed. But let’s wait and see. I think we can expect a massive Apple takeover from October until the end of the year.
